Day 466 - Massage & The Treadmill!

Another beautiful day in paradise! I hit the treadmill - walking, not running - and managed to do 2 miles in 30 minutes. I was spent. I guess I'm in pretty rough shape! Oh well! There has to be a beginning somewhere!

I listened to Dr. Lemberg's talk & then quickly ran home to shower & change & get back in 15 minutes for Anna Maria's lecture. She was brilliant! No one has ever explained in such detail what the white blood cells are comprised of. She explained the elimination & detox systems, food, etc. I think one of the best lines I've heard ever, is: We need to stop looking at food as a way to socialize & address our emotions. We need to instead look at it as a way of nourishing our body, giving it nutrition & providing anti-disease treatment.

I like that!

I met with Nurse Tom after lunch & we went through my blood in great detail. I feel a lot better having seen the dried & fresh blood under the microscope & learning what all the little squiggles & blobs are. I headed straight to the hut to catch the balance of Brian's 'Food Combining' lecture. He doesn't advocate ANY meat, sugar, dairy or cooked food. With that said, one should eat protein & veggies or carbs & veggies. Never protein & carbs. And melons - eat them alone or leave them alone! They digest in 30 minutes & will sit & ferment in your guts if you eat anything else right before it!

While I was waiting for dinner to start, I sat down & chatted with a few of the ladies that just arrived on the weekend. One revealed that she sings. She sent us to YouTube to find her video. Her voice is AMAZING! Check it out! Apparently she's on iTunes as well. I was blown away!

I quickly wolfed down some dinner & headed off to my massage. I get one Swedish massage per week & this week I was with Joseph. He was BRILLIANT! Wow! I haven't had a massage like that since the day when Mom & I went to the Willow Stream Spa in Banff & I had a shiatsu massage. Go Joe!

I returned to the Hall & finished my supper while I chatted with Norman & waited for Jaco to call. We had our usual chat - 'Hello?' 'Hello.' 'Hello?' 'Hello.' 'Hello?' And then we carry on...

Tomorrow is fasting day. I am actually looking forward to it! It's a welcome break from the sprouts & green stuff... That way I'll actually be excited about the food on Thursday!

Anna Maria explains the lymph system like no one ever has! Brilliant!

Day 408 - Roxie & Roxy

Just to confuse you a little more, I talked to Roxie the dog lady today. She is the gal I got Valentina & Oceana from. I told her how Mom wanted Oceana & then changed her mind. Roxie was not impressed & offered to take the dog back. I knew that Roxie had her plate full with health challenges, and besides, Jaco & I had decided that we would keep Oceana. Her & Valentina have bonded so well!

We chatted about the dogs & what they were up to. I have started a new routine for the girls. Wake up. Pee. Treadmill for 30 mins. Poo. Breakfast. Same thing in the evening. Yes. They walk on the treadmill. They weren't getting enough (any) exercise with the cold weather & deep snow, adding in my health situation, so I decided now would be a good time to start them on the treadmill. Today was day 3 & they are enjoying their 'walks'. I must say, they are pretty darn cute - trotting away, click-clicking on the treadmill.

When we go to Roxy's tomorrow, she has a treadmill as well, so I'll be able to continue their new routine. If only I was that good with myself! In due time, I suppose!

Another short post. See you tomorrow!

Day 145 - On The Phone Again...

Okay, so this will be a short post...

Today was a complete write off. I spent the entire day on the phone or on the computer. If I wasn't researching alternative treatments & supplements, I was on the phone with someone who needed catching up with.

Of course, there was my escapade with Sears. I wanted to track down a particular Oster blender that I had found on the Sears website. I phoned Chinook Sears. Five times. They disconnected me, hung up on me, didn't answer, put me through to the newest Sears employee who didn't know a thing & then finally told me they didn't have any & had no clue how to find one. Thanks for showing up for WORK today.

I called Southcentre Sears. They were a lot more useful! They didn't have any in stock, but were able to tell me that Marlborough Sears did & also provided the stock # for next time. I phoned Marlborough & they were slightly more helpful than Chinook Sears, but at least they put a blender on hold for me.

I skyped with a friend from Ottawa - Kim Ing Photography - and ran the boudoir idea past her. We chatted about life after ships & our travel plans/dreams.

I talked to Jaco while I walked my 1/2 hour on the treadmill. Yes, I can multi-task from time to time! :o)

All in all, I didn't do a whole lot, but managed to get a lot done! Does that make sense? Anyhow, here's to a better day tomorrow!

Love & hugs,
Maria & Valentina
